Which course should I attend?

See the page footer for topics covered in the available courses.

The ERA course provides theory & methodology sessions and covers the most widely used clinical applications of ERA & OAE tests, both in the classroom and in practical sessions where you can develop your clinical skills by performing tests on fellow course participants.

All the topics of the Newborn ABR Course and Refresher Day are included

The Newborn ABR course omits basic ERA theory and concentrates on ABR testing of babies, including CM testing, masking and test strategy.

Neurological ABR testing, cortical tests, OAE tests and VEMPs are not covered but there are practical sessions in which you can develop your clinical skills by performing tests on fellow course participants.

The Newborn ABR Refresher Day is for staff who have been on one of the above courses and want to update their knowledge & skills in Newborn ABR testing. There are no hand-on practical sessions. This course is not a substitute for initial training in ABR.

The ABR Peer Review Information Day is designed to support the introduction of ABR peer review to service providers and prospective reviewers, as described in the British Society of Audiology guidance on Principles of external ABR peer review. Information on the training & accreditation process for reviewers is included.
